New Zealand

New Zealand is an island nation in the southwestern of Pacific Ocean. It comprises of many small islands and two main lands, North Island and South Island. Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand, while the largest city is Auckland.  New Zealand is a small country, with a population of only four millions of people, which makes it a less crowded country.

There are spectacular glaciers, picturesque fiords, rugged mountains, vast plains. There are also geothermal areas, hot springs and beaches in the country.

Weather in New Zealand change unexpectedly, the average temperature decreased as travel south. January and February are the warmest months, while July is the coldest.

Snow usually happened from June through October, and it mostly falls in the mountainous areas. In addition to that, New Zealand has relatively lower air pollution which makes the UV rays in the sunlight to be stronger.

Maori are the native in New Zealand, with a patchwork of European, Pacific Island and Asian and most of the population live in the North Island. The New Zealanders (informally known as Kiwis) enjoy urban living, but there are also a number of rural populations. Christianity is the predominant religion in the country.

New Zealand has a high income economy, and had successfully transformed from an agrarian economy to a more industrialized economy.  It is still heavily dependent on agriculture export, as their lamb, dairy products and wool export still ranked number one in the World.

Despite that, forestry and fishing are also important export earner for New Zealand.
