怀希窗口步道 Waihi Window Walk

走上吊桥越过河流
走过一条废弃铁道线
穿过一个险峻的风景峡谷
位于卡朗格哈克峡谷的窗口步道
绝对不可错过

Step off the swing bridge across the river, follow the tram tracks and walk through a spectacular gorge.  Window Walkway located at Karangahake Gorge is not to be missed.


卡朗格哈克峡谷历史步道全长7公里
窗口步道是它的一个分岔
这里曾是重要的采矿中心
虽然修复工作在进行中
但全程仍保留了当年黄金开采的历史遗迹

Karangahake Gorge Historical Walkway is 7km long and Window Walkway is an extended route out from it.  It used to be an important gold mining site.  Restoration work was carrying on but the track had maintained the original look of the old time.


由于步道沿着奥西尼穆里河而建
因此步道的开始是一座吊桥
并根据旧时一道铁路路线而建
这里水流奔腾
冲撞着岩石激起无数浪花

The walkway begins with a swing bridge as it was built along the Ohinemuri River, following the route of an old tram track.  The river flow rapidly hitting the rocks and create the splashes.


经过了美丽的峡谷
跟随旧铁路进入了废弃的挖金隧道
建议携带手电筒
虽然前部分的隧道有“窗口”可透入光线
但后段却是一片黑暗
借此体验当年矿工在隧道中工作的情景

Crossing the scenery gorge and follow the old tram track into the gold mining tunnels, it is recommended to bring a torch light.  The first few sections are visible from the light through the "window" but the last section is dark. It allows visitors to experience the working environment of the miners in the old time.


透过山洞中的“窗口”
是观赏峡谷的绝佳地点
还有旧时留下的发电机、地底烘炉
和运载金矿的工具

The "windows" are great places to look down in to the gorge.  It also allows visitors to explore the old batteries, old underground ovens and the tools used to transport the gold in the old time.
