奥克兰皮哈海滩 Auckland Piha Beach

距离奥克兰西边45分钟路程
有个悠闲的海边小村 - 皮哈
这里的皮哈海滩
是冲浪爱好者的天堂
夏天许多人到此游泳、冲浪
救生员也会再次标记安全区

45 minutes west of Auckland city, there is a laid-back seaside village named Piha.  The Piha Beach located here is a popular surfing location.  In summer, many people come for swimming and surfing, lifesavers are patrolling at the beach and an area will be clearly flagged for swimmers.


皮哈海滩其中一个特点
就是因火山地区富含铁矿砂而形成的黑沙滩
黑色沙砾柔软细腻
但在夏季时得提防烫脚

One of the reasons Piha Beach is special is because of the black sand beach due to the high iron content which is of volcanic origin.  The black sand is soft but may burn your feet in summer.


这里的另一个特点
就是把南北皮哈海滩分隔开的狮子岩
狮子岩是天然形成的礁石
貌似雄狮趴在海滩上而得名

Another attraction there is the Lion Rock which divided the North and Soouth Piha beaches.  The Lion Rock is a natural formation and got the name as it looks like a male lion lying on the beach.


这里有步道可攀上狮子岩
但顶端因地质松软及会有落石
因此不可爬上顶端

There is a walking track up the Lion Rock but the summit is not accessible due to unstable ground and falling rocks.


在可抵达的高度可俯览整片海滩
亦可观赏日落
景色优美

At the highest accessible point is able to view the beach and the sunset.  Do not miss the stunning view.


最后，还可以到附近的咖啡厅
喝杯咖啡吃些小点
才启程离开

Lastly, enjoy some coffee and small bites at the nearby cafe before leaving.
