威灵顿维多利亚山 Wellington Mount Victoria

Located right next to the central business district, Mount Victoria Lookout has the stunning panoramic views of Wellington city and harbor, as well s a best spot in the city for viewing sunrise or sunset.


前往山顶可自行驾车或乘搭巴士抵达
山上有数个停车场
极为方便
但山路坡度倾斜、狭隘
驾车必须注意安全

Visitors can drive their own car or catch a bus to the lookout, it is very convenience to drive all the way up since there are few car parks at the lookout point but the way up is steep and narrow thus it is important to be careful while driving.


另一选择则可沿着步道上山
维多利亚山是威灵顿城市公共带的一部分
是规划预留的土地
目的是用于建造居民公共休闲娱乐场地
作为步行、慢跑和骑山车的好地点

Another way is to take a walkway to the hill top.  Mount Victoria is part of the Wellington Town Belt, a series of park land reserved and granted to the city for public recreation and this area features many tracks used for walking, jogging and mountain biking.

At the end of the hiking track, not far from the lookout, is where the memorial for American polar explorer and aviator Richard Byrd stood.  He used New Zealand as a base for his Antarctic expeditions.

The director of The Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson was born in Wellington. The walking track of Mount Victoria was used as a location in The Lord of the Rings where the Hobbits hide from the ring wraiths.

不妨到维多利亚山慢跑、骑山车
即容易抵达、风景又宜人

Those who like sports, why don't head to Mount Victoria for a jog or mountain biking.  It is easily accessible and the view is excellent.
